Future
in the Banking Industry
 |
Banking Industry annually recruits about 1000 Officers and 5000 Clerks (of all categories). A person who joins as a Clerk today can retire as a Senior Officer (drawing a salary of Rs 25,000/- as per present scales). Nearly 80% of the 2,00,000 Officers today working in India's banking Industry are those who had joined banks in clerical positions. On the other hand, a person who joins the Bank as a Probationary Officer can rise upto the level of a Chairman of a Bank. Almost all Chairmen of State Bank of India and also the Chairmen of many other nationalised banks had joined Banks as Probationary Officers. A vast majority of top functionaries in the banking industry such as Managing Directors, General Managers etc. had also joined Banks as Probationary Officers. |
